Who Can Apply for a Spain Visa From UK?
With the help of our external service, one can apply for a Schengen visa (type C).
Those seeking a long-term visas/residence permits (type D) would need to apply at the Spain Missions in the UK directly.
One is required to have a residence in the UK before one looks to apply for any type of visa or residence permit with our service provider or the Spain’s Missions in the UK. Unless one holds a valid UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or other evidence of Leave to Enter/Leave to Remain (includes a UK short-term study visa)
Any other type of visa needs an application with the Embassy directly. Appointments can be scheduled through our booking system.
Documents needed for a Spain Tourist visa for UK residents
- Fully completed and signed Spain tourist visa application form.
- Passport – A copy of the information pages of your valid, signed passport with at least 1 year of remaining validity. Please do NOT send your original passport.
- Passport-type photograph. Include 2 passport style photos, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months.
- Proof of status. A copy of immigration status in the country of residence such as a resident card, work, or study permit. This document must be valid for a minimum of 3 months.
- Travel insurance– Proof of international travel insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000, specifically covering travel to Schengen states is required. The policy should cover all expenses for repatriation, emergency medical aid, and hospital treatment for the period of stay.
- Itinerary. A copy of round trip tickets or detailed itinerary for the duration of the trip. The applicant’s name must be on itinerary.
Round-trip ticket booking (airfare, bus or cruise) stating the name of the applicant. If travelling by car: driving license, Log book proving the ownership documents for the vehicle, insurance and ferry or Eurotunnel tickets.
- Confirmed Hotel bookings.Proof of accommodation for the time of stay, hotel booking or property lease, stating the name of the applicant.If travel is by private invitation, official invitation letter.
- Bank statement. A copy of the applicant’s last 3 monthly bank statements showing proof of sufficient funds. The statement must clearly show the applicant’s name as the account holder, the balance of the account, and the date of the statement.
This Consular Section will not accept bank statements from on-line banking. Proof of sufficient financial availability for the period of stay requested: £80 per day of stay and person, with a minimum of £724 per person regardless of the intended duration of the stay.
In case of sponsored trip: notarised sponsorship letter duly dated and signed, officially translated into Spanish, supported by the following sponsor documents: passport (original and copy), employment letter officially translated, last 6-month original bank statements.
- Embassy Fee. An Embassy fee of 80 Euros must be paid at the time of appointment.
- No objection letter.
For employees: no objection letter from employer dated and signed, stating qualification, salary and start date of employment in the UK.
For private employees (nannies, housekeepers, drivers, au-pair, etc.): no objection letter from employer dated and signed, stating qualification, salary and start date of employment in the UK, copies of the employer’s passport and the employment contract.
For self-employed workers: copy of trade license, accountant letter and last year proof of paying taxes.
For students/pupils: no objection letter from school or university, stating the start and the end date of studies and the course title.
