India Tourist Visa in UK
- A valid Passport with minimum validity of 180 days with at least two blank pages.
- Two recent 50 * 50 mm size photograph. Please note the specifications required for the Photo.

Indian tourist Visa from UK For Media Related Professionals, Police or Armed Forces, Commercial Pilots/Crew Members, Charity/Social Workers, Researchers, and Priest going to India for Tourism.
- Employers letter addressed to the HCI, London OR it’s respective consulates stating the purpose.
- For Self-employed media related professionals require to provide a letter of Undertaking stating no Professional related activities would be undertaken during the stay in India.
- The above documents have to be stated on the letter head of the company and addressed to High Commission of India and its respective Consulates.
Indian tourist Visa from UK for Minor Child (Under 16 Years of age)
- A copy of the child’s birth certificate indicating clearly names of both the parents.
- A consent letter addressed to the HCI, London OR its respective consulates that is signed by both the parents.
- A Photocopy of Parent’s passport along with the copy of their current Indian Visa, if already holding one. However, if the parents are Indian citizens, then copy of the resident status in UK would be required.
- In matters of Divorce, Child custody letter from court in respect of the child is required.
- For Single parent, Solicitor’s Letter and Child Benefit letter will be required.
Note: In case of Minor’s Application/Declaration either of the parents can sign the application form/declaration.
Indian tourist Visa from UK for Person whose previous nationality was Indian before acquiring foreign nationality.
- A copy of Surrender Certificate and a copy of the cancelled Indian Passport (Self-Attested) is required

- If travelled to India before, please provide your previous Passport with Indian Visa.
Indian E Visa
Tourists can apply for an “eTourist visa”, business travellers of the “eBusiness visa”, and medical travellers of the “eMedical visa”. These are all electronic visas, also known as “e-visas”, which can be obtained hassle free and in a short period of time through the online application form.
Eligibility for the Indian E-Visa
- One who has an objective of visiting India as a recreational activity, sightseeing, or a casual visit to meet and greet friends and one who does not possess a residence or occupation in India is eligible for a tourist visa. The eligibility for an Indian Business Visa is for persons who are doing business in India such as sales or establishing connects on behalf of a company outside of India. Student visas are provided to Bonafide students to pursue regular studies at recognized Indian institutions. Voluntary work of short duration (for a maximum period of one month, which do not involve any monetary consideration), medical treatment including treatment under Indian systems of medicine, business purpose, as attendant to e-Medical visa holder, attending a conference/ seminar/ workshop organized by a Ministry or Department of the Government of India, State Governments or UT Administrations etc. & their subordinate/ attached organizations & PSUs and private conferences organized by private persons/companies/organizations.
- The passport is required to have least six months validity at the time of making application for grant of Indian E-Visa.
- International Travellers are required to possess return ticket or onward journey ticket, with sufficient money to spend during his/her stay in India.
- International Travellers having Pakistani Passport or Pakistani origin may please apply for regular Indian Visa at Indian Mission.
- This is not available to Diplomatic/Official Passport Holders or Laissez-passer travel document holders.
- This is not available to individuals endorsed on Parent’s/Spouse’s Passport i.e. each individual should have a separate passport.
- This is not available to International Travel Document Holders other than Passport.
